Programme purpose
If you do not speak Romanian but wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree taught in Romanian at UPT, you are required to complete a preparatory year in Romanian language.
Our programme helps you develop the level of Romanian you need in order to study in Romania. You will learn to communicate effectively in everyday situations and in academic contexts. You will also become familiar with Romanian culture and student life in Romania.
The programme aims to prepare you for B1 level, meaning you will be able to communicate independently, in line with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Accreditation
The programme is accredited by ARACIS, in accordance with current national regulations regarding linguistic training for international students.
Who is it for
Whether you are part of the Romanian communities abroad, a citizen of an EU Member State, or from outside the EU, this course provides the ideal starting point for your academic and professional journey in Romanian.
What you learn
The programme includes intensive courses in general vocabulary, grammar, and written and oral expression, tailored both for everyday communication and for the field you plan to study:
- Mathematics and Natural Sciences;
- Engineering Sciences;
- Social Sciences;
- Humanities and Arts;
- Biological and Biomedical Sciences.

The admission process for this programme may vary depending on your country of origin.
Admission for non-EU international applicants
If you are a citizen of a country outside the European Union, the admission process is carried out through the Apply platform.
Admission for EU applicants and Romanian communities abroad
If you are a candidate from the Romanian communities abroad or a citizen of an EU Member State, the admission process takes place through Enroll, our official admission platform.
